For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…” (2nd Corinthians 5:10)
I have to admit I struggle with this one. When I stand before my own judgment seat, I tend to overlook any sin that I may be holding on to. I compare my sin to the sin of others and think, “Well I don’t do what they do so my sin isn’t as bad.” But this verse reminds us that we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. It reminds us to live in light of His throne and not ours. It’s His standards that we are to live up to and not according to our own sense of right and wrong.
Now if we are in Christ, there is no condemnation but there is conviction. The light of His throne shows us those things that we need to have removed from our lives. No amount of effort on our part can remove the sin in our lives. We must submit that to Him and let Him take it away. Submission, and surrender, is the key to letting Jesus do what only He can do.
Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
