By Faith, Not By Sight

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called…..And he went out, not knowing where he was going.   (Hebrews 11:8)

The two most important steps of faith are the first step and the next step. The first step requires belief and surrender. Every next step requires faith and obedience. To follow not knowing where you are going and to obey without knowing the outcome requires complete confidence in the one giving the instructions. Abraham was promised a land as an inheritance at the end of his journey, but he didn’t know where the land was.

The thing about an inheritance is something must die before you can receive it. Abraham’s life of comfort had to die. He had to uproot his family and journey to a land he didn’t know. Based on his faith in God, he obeyed and began the journey. We are instructed to die to ourselves and take up our cross daily. What in your life needs to die in order for you to follow in obedience? Is it anger, doubt, arrogance, fear, insecurity, pride or lust?  Whatever it may be, let it die today so you can take the next step of obedience and faith.

Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
