The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. (Psalm 34:15)
“Jesus is watching you”. I remember hearing that as a kid and thinking it was a warning to keep me from doing stuff I wasn’t supposed to do. That was the trump card for adults to keep kids in line. While it is true that He is watching us, Jesus is not some cosmic watchdog waiting to pounce when we step out of line.
Have you ever tried to talk to someone that wouldn’t look at you? Maybe they are distracted and constantly checking their phone. Their attention is divided and they can’t focus on what you are saying. It’s really frustrating to say the least. This verse tells us that Jesus is looking at us not like a watchdog, but like someone who is engaged in conversation. He is focused on you and what you have to say. He is giving you His undivided attention.
Let’s return the favor and engage in the conversation. Sit quietly and listen for His voice. Read God’s word and see what He has to say. Take the time to remove the distractions, look to Him, and talk to Him. It will be the best conversation you will have.
Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
