Stand Firm

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.  (2 Corinthians 10:3-4)

The church at Corinth was under attack and being torn down but not by a physical army. It was being attacked spiritually by the enemy and the enemy was inside the church. The enemy was attacking Godly purity with the acceptance of sexual immorality. He was using false teachers to attack the gospel of Jesus Christ. Humbleness was attacked by using comparison and pride. Their giving was attacked by greed fueled by mistrust and lies. Sound familiar? It should.

The church today is being attacked in the same ways. The enemy is limited in power and ability. Our God is limitless in power and ability and has given us the strength and authority through Jesus to stand firm and fight. Before we begin to stand, we must first kneel in prayer. Then, we can fight against the enemy and destroy the strongholds he is trying to set up in our midst.

The Southern Baptist Convention is under attack by the enemy as we speak. He is spreading division and working from within the members. He is using pride and shame in an effort to instill chaos and disorder. To my brothers and sisters of the faith, I implore you to stand firm as we are commanded by God. Stand firm in the Lord, firm in His Grace, and in His Word.

“Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. “ Ephesians 6:13

If you are a Christian but not part of the SBC, I would ask you to pray for them as you would pray for your own denomination. I would also warn you that the enemy is at your gates as well. Do not be deceived to think you are off the enemy’s radar. In fact, I would say, you should want to be in his cross-hairs because that means you are taking the fight to him. Stand firm! Fight the fight!

Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
