Get to Work

For we are God’s fellow workers…(1Corinthians 3:9 ESV)

How cool is it to hear that we are fellow workers with God? I know I have been in jobs where I didn’t like the people I worked with. It was a chore to come to work on days that I had to work with those people. Even if it was an easy day, the time would drag on and on. But, that work was done for my benefit and my motivation was purely selfish.

When we work alongside God, we are in essence, worshipping God with our service. Our motivation is His glory and not our gain. If we feel any disappointment in our service to God, we need to check our focus. We cannot focus on good results or bad results but instead keep serving for the purpose of His glory. Yes, we should rejoice in the victories we see but, we should not rejoice in them for so long that we forget there is still more work to be done.

The really cool thing is God could have chosen to do His work in so many different ways but, He chose us to be His co-workers. So, let’s suit up and get to work with God in building His kingdom.
