At that time Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord gave the Amorites over to the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still at Gibeon, and moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. (Joshua 10:12-13)
What a bold prayer for Joshua to pray! Joshua asked God to stop the sun and God did just that. He stopped the sun until Joshua’s enemies were defeated. Now that’s a BIG prayer.
When was the last BIG prayer we prayed? Sure we pray for little stuff all the time and that’s all good. But, when was the last time we prayed a prayer so big that only God could make it happen? What obstacles are standing in the way of us doing what God has called us to do? What mountain needs to be moved to clear the path to Kingdom victory in our lives? What do we need done that only God can do? God stopped the sun so that Joshua could fulfill the mission God had given him. What do you need God to do for you in order to complete the call He has placed on your life?
We serve a God that breathed stars to life. Let us be a people that prays BIG, BOLD prayers!
