Episode 39 “We Are Free”
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. (Romans 6:6-7)
When we give our lives to Jesus, we take part in His crucifixion. Our old nature and all our sins are nailed to the cross to die. The power of the cross breaks the bonds sin had on our life. That day we are set free from sin.
We also share in the resurrection of Jesus. We have been made new. As Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ and no longer live but Christ lives in me” So, let us not stand at the foot of the cross and mourn the death of our sins. Instead, we join in the resurrection of Christ and walk in the newness of life. We are now bound to Christ and, to be bound to Christ, is to be freed from sin! Let us be a people that walks in this new-found freedom, stride for stride with Christ, in obedience to His word.
