Episode 40 “God Gave”
For God so loved the world that He gave… (John 3:16)
This is probably one of the most famous verses in the Bible. Just about everyone can finish this verse even if you don’t call yourself a Christian. I think sometimes we hear something so many times that we just run through the words and miss the depth of the verse.
Let’s go back and look again. God so loved the world, that He gave. In His love for us, even when we were lost in sin, God gave to us. He gave us all of Him in total surrender so that we may have everlasting life in Him. Once you have given your life to Christ, He lives in you.
God calls us to love the way He loved. If Christ is in you, that means more than giving money or possessions. God wants us to give the way He gave and what He gave. That is, to give out of love and, to give all of Him that is in us to those who are still lost in sin. Let us be a people that truly love the way God loves; fully surrendered to the cause of saving a lost and dying world.
