In and Out of Season

Episode 41: In and out of Season

preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.  (2 Timothy 4:2)

Be ready, in season and out of season! We will have moments, gifts from God, where we feel Him move in our lives. Those moments are awesome, inspiring and uplifting. In those moments it is very easy to preach the word and lift up the name of Jesus. But, what do we do in between those moments when we are not seeing God move? Our motivation cannot come from those moments. If that is the case, we are actually worshipping those moments and we make those moments our god.

Our motivation must come from knowing God and not just seeing God move. Jesus said, “Blessed are those that do not see and still believe.” We must be ready even when we don’t feel like it. We will have valleys between the mountain tops. We will have days where we walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Even in those moments, our answer to adversity lies in the promises of God. Our strength to get thru lies in knowing Him and knowing He is there even if we cannot see Him.

If we are only obedient in times of reward, we become a burden to God. We cannot ask, “What’s in it for me?”, before we respond. Our response, in and out of every season, is to go back to the word of God and not just preach the Word, but live it out as well. When those who do not know Jesus see us live out our faith no matter the circumstances, they will begin to inquire about our God. When that happens, Let us be a people that are READY and BE BOLD! In those moments, let’s be prepared to give an explanation for our hope.

Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
