Episode #48: Walk By Faith
for we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)
It’s easy to do God’s work when we see Him moving. But, when we don’t see the results we are expecting, we can get discouraged. We get down on ourselves and start wondering what we did wrong. We start wondering why God is absent when we are doing His work. When we are only willing to do His work if we see Him move, we are no different than the Pharisees that would only believe if Jesus showed them a sign.
Jesus said, “blessed are those who do not see and still believe”, John 20:29. 1st John 4:19 reminds us, “We love because He loved us first”. So, we walk on in faith like the blind man in Mark. He couldn’t see Jesus, but he knew it was Jesus that was leading him out of the city, so he continued to walk. Rejoice in the times we see God move but do not live only for those moments. Don’t live to receive more gifts but instead to share the gifts God has given you for His purpose.
Let us be a people who are willing to take the next step in faith even though we cannot see outcome. Let the Word of God be a lamp unto our feet as we walk, in faith, on mission, for the Will and purpose of God.
