In the presence of God, all things that are not like Him must fall down before Him. When we catch the revelation of Jesus, we realize that there are many things in us that are not like Him. That realization causes us to surrender and fall down before Him. It is a sweet moment when we understand that we cannot raise ourselves but only Jesus can. It’s in that moment of true surrender that we feel His hand on us. It’s not a hand of discipline or rebuke but it is the right hand of blessing.
It’s in the moment of despair, when we realize we cannot save ourselves, that Jesus says, “Do not fear”. It is in the moment we know that the only way to be raised up is to surrender to Jesus, that we find the peace of God that surpasses all understanding. Let us be a people that surrenders to God and allows the things in us that are not like Him to die.
