episode #52: Coming Soon
“Behold, I am coming soon… (Revelation 22:12)
This has to be one of my favorite verses. It is a promise that Jesus will return soon. As an Army brat, (born, raised and trapped), I watched my Dad leave quite a few times. This was never easy for me and there were several nights when I cried myself to sleep wanting him home. What I didn’t realize then was how hard it was on him to leave us behind.
Now I have a family of my own and a job that requires me to travel and stay gone for days at a time. I miss my wife and my boys before I even get out of the driveway. I look forward to that last day of work so I can get back home and be with them, but I need to complete my work first. Our Heavenly Father knows the day He will return to us. While we wait here in this world, He is completing the work He has established from the beginning. I know God is looking forward to the day when the whole family can be together in Heaven.
This is God’s promise, that He will return soon. When He does, what a day that will be! Let us be a people who live in the hope of the promise of His return.
