Episode #58: Kingdom Legacy
A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the righteous. (Proverbs 13:22)
I’ve read this verse before and saw it as affirmation that God doesn’t want us to be poor. After all, how can you leave an inheritance to your grandchildren if you are broke? While that’s a good goal, it’s not, THE, goal. God also says, “What good does it do a man to gain the whole world if he loses his soul?”
Leaving behind enough money to take care of your grandkids is nice but is that really the legacy you want to leave behind? When your future generations talk about you, do you want them to remember you or your money? SAVING your money will help them financially but, SPENDING your faith will benefit them eternally. Make sure they know the best investment they can make is the investment they make to God’s kingdom.
Let us be a people who leave a legacy that honors the Kingdom of God. Let our children’s children be blessed by the overflow of God in our lives.
