Episode #61: No Baggage Claim
“But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.” (1 Timothy 6:6,7)
The greatest gain we can have is contentment with godliness. We can’t achieve any material gain or possession that we can take with us when we die. Every gift we are given is meant to be used. Every trial we go through is meant to be learned from.
When you die, they won’t be towing a storage unit behind the hearse with all your stuff in it. But here’s the good news for Christians, we won’t be towing a hospital bed either! Just like we leave behind all our worldly possessions, we leave behind all sickness and pain as well. Aches and pains stay behind. Depression and worry stay behind. Heart disease and Alzheimer’s stay behind. Cancer and every disease that attacks us will stay behind. Praise God, we won’t take anything with us when we go!
Let us be a people who live our lives knowing that the final journey home won’t come with any baggage from this life!
