Heed the Mirror

Episode #64: Heed the Mirror

For is anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he is. (James 1:23,24)

Scripture is a mirror that is to be used on ourselves, not a magnifying glass to be turned on others. When we get ready for school or work, most people check themselves in a mirror before walking out of the door. This check helps us to see if something is out of place, if the clothes we have match, or if we spilled toothpaste on our shirt without knowing. It helps us see any corrections we may need to make before we present ourselves to the world that day.

When we look into the mirror of God’s Word, it reveals to us the things we need to lay aside. Let us be a people who heed the advice of the mirror and lay aside those things that keep the world from seeing the reflection of God in us.

Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
