Take It With You

Episode #65: Take It With You

“The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”    (2 Timothy 2:2)

I was not a good student in school. I did just enough work to get by most of the time but not always. I took English 7 times in 4 years because I couldn’t stand to do homework. I had an arrogant attitude that the teacher had to teach me while I was there but once I left school that was my time. Through the gift of summer school, I was able to graduate on time and walk with my class. I think we do this in church now.

We come and listen to a Sunday sermon with no intent on taking it away from church. We put the burden on the pastor to teach us while we are there, but we don’t want to pick up the Word once we leave the building. Paul tells us, we are to listen and learn with the intent of taking the same message to others. We should not listen as students but as teachers. We are commissioned by Jesus to go and make disciples. We can’t do that by hearing a sermon on Sunday and never applying it to our lives.

Let us be a people who are faithful to be in the Word and take the lesson outside of the church walls to others.

Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
