Episode #70: Diligence for Days
“Now we want each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the final realization of your hope, so that you won’t become lazy but will be imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance.” (Hebrews 6:11-12)
Be patient, diligent and persevere. Don’t be lazy. That is not a message that sits well on our culture of immediate gratification. These are the evidence of our salvation. The Christian hope is not a drive thru experience. It’s not even a sit down and order experience. It is a get in the kitchen, roll up your sleeves, put on your apron and get your hands dirty experience. We are here to serve until we are called home.
There will be a day when we sit down at a great wedding feast with Jesus our Groom in heaven. What a beautiful and bountiful feast that will be! Until that day comes, we need to keep serving God by seeking the lost. There is a table in heaven waiting for us to sit and rest. Let us be a people who strive to bring as many people to the table with us as we can.
Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
