Who Am I to You?

Episode #98: Who Am I to You?

“And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? And they answered, John the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.” (Mark 8:27-29)

Jesus asks two very telling questions in this passage. He asks, “Who do men say that I am?” And He asks, “Who do you say that I am?”. If we were to be asked these same questions today, I’m sure the answer to the first question would be the same. Many people and false religions teach that Jesus was just a man or just a prophet. That lie has been perpetuated by Satan for thousands of years. But, when we are asked the second question, “Who do you say that I am?” our response reveals where we stand.

Peter says that Jesus is “the” Christ. Christ is not His name, it is His title. This meant that Peter recognized Jesus as the Messiah sent from God and, that Jesus was God’s Son. If that is how we see Jesus, and it should be, then let our praise today reflect that truth. Let our voices be raised in awe and reverence of what He has done for us. Let our ears be attentive to the words He has given us. Finally, let us be a people whose actions speak the same truth as we go out into everyday life. Jesus is The Christ, The Son of God, The Savior of the world and He is worthy of all praise!

Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
