Shackles and a Hammer

Episode #110: Shackles and a Hammer

“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”    (Mark 11:25)

You’ve heard it said that not forgiving someone is drinking poison and hoping it hurts the other person. Jesus is telling us that it will also stand in the way of our prayers. When we refuse to forgive others for what they have done to us, we shackle ourselves to that person and whatever incident it was that hurt us. We have locked ourselves up in the shackles of bitterness. Those shackles and chains of bitterness are holding us back from the breakthrough and blessings we are looking for from God.

Forgiveness isn’t always easy but then again breaking out of prison never is. The hammer of forgiveness shatters the shackles of bitterness and sets us free. Let us be a people whose prayers are not hindered by bitterness and unforgiveness. Let’s examine our lives and drop the hammer of forgiveness on the bitterness that is holding us back.

Love Y’all! Be Blessed!
