Episode #114: Be Alert
“Therefore be alert, since you don’t know when the master of the house is coming — whether in the evening or at midnight or at the crowing of the rooster or early in the morning.” (Mark 13:35)
Three times from verse 32 to verse 35 we are told that we do not know the day the Master will return. We are told seven times in chapter 13 to take heed, watch, and pray. We can surely take away from the chapter that there will come a time of great persecution and confusion but, if we are on guard and watching, we will not be taken by surprise. What we must not lose sight of is the overwhelming promise of the return of Jesus.
We are to be alert and watch for we do not know when the Master of the house will return but, we can hold on to the promise that He WILL RETURN! In the meantime, let us be a people who stay on mission to rescue those trapped behind enemy lines and held captive by sin. Relief is on the way, keep fighting! The end is near, finish strong! Our rescuer, our savior, OUR KING IS COMING BACK!
