Episode #126: Stop Staring. Get Moving.
“While He was going, they were gazing into heaven, and suddenly two men in white clothes stood by them. They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up into heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come in the same way that you have seen Him going into heaven.” (Acts 1:10-11)
As we start out on our Christian walk, we have a huge advantage over the disciples. We have the advantage of all their knowledge laid out before is in the Bible. Their ministry would be extreme on the job training. As they stood gazing into heaven after Jesus ascended, two angels appeared to them. The basic message from the angels reminded the disciples that Jesus had kept every promise up to that point and the disciples had a job to do until He returned. Knowing what they knew about Jesus they needed to stop standing around and get moving.
The same message applies to us today. Christian, knowing all we know about Jesus, and having the entire narrative laid out before us, stop standing around and get moving! Let us be a people who are prayed up, ready to work, and moving in obedience to the will of God!
